IMAGINE…
What would your daily life be like if you were laser focused on achieving your most important goals?

How would your life be different if you knew (and could get yourself to do) what is more important to accomplish than anything else every day?

What would you pursue if you were able to focus all your time and energy on achieving your heart’s desire?

What would you be willing to give up to achieve your dream?

We go through life so caught up in our day-to-day busyness that we often forget to look up and ask ourselves, “why?” Assuming that our hopes and dreams represent our true underlying purpose in life, what do our aspirations tell us about our daily priorities, activities, and the way we use our time and energy? How do you use your time instead of focusing on your dreams?

Before the new year begins, take some time to reflect on what you really want from life, what would be your most satisfying life accomplishment, and what you need to make it possible. Which  habits need to change to make achieving your dreams possible? What do you need to give up or get out of your way? What would facilitate positive change (hint: it’s often tiny things, such as how your space is set up, your schedule, how much time you spend watching TV or on the Internet, your time wasters{any activity for which there is no positive outcome}, and small segments of time that could be used more productively)?

Try this exercise for goal setting: write about your goals for the coming year as though you had already achieved them. Write about the ways that these accomplishments changed your life and how you feel and live now. It may sound simple, but this exercise is very powerful for helping to achieve your dreams and identify your priorities.
